“When this life becomes a fight, you are where I put my gloves down.

We just have to grab our imaginary shovel and start digging by doing the soul and heart-work to find the answers. The protection and guidance we’re seeking are sometimes buried deep within us. So often, we can get confused in thinking the solutions to our problems are found externally when we must dive inward. “I f you’re looking for protection, learn to read directions written in the depths of your soul.” Song: Hour of Love Check out my article on Five Ways to Practice More Self-Love.

How are you taking care of your well-being and practicing self-love? Looking for a few tips. She shares how dedicating time in the morning, afternoon and evening for you to love on yourself can help you better love on others. By getting still in prayer and meditation as well as taking a “shower of love,” you are able to refill your cup. This song taught me about the importance of pouring into yourself, so you can pour into others from a cup of overflow.

“A little love for your soul will make you whole.” Song: Hour of Love In honor of the album turning two today, I wanted to celebrate this work of art with some of my favorite lyrics and lessons this album has taught me. Until then, check out the lyric video for "What If" and peep Worthy's tracklist below.Have you ever listened to a body of work that pours life into you with you every song? For me, that album is a masterpiece known as “ Worthy” by the beautiful and soulful India.Arie. We're sure we can expect more messages through the music when India Arie's latest set arrives on February 15th. All the while, her lyrics flash on the screen as they urge us to be the change we want to see in the world. That point is brought into focus even more with the song's lyric video, which showcases images from the past as well as footage from current protests. While she brings up well-known leaders like Martin Luther King Jr. and Nelson Mandela, she also makes a point to ask us all to do our part and speak out against the injustices of the world. When Worthy arrives this February, it'll be sporting 16 new tracks from the "Strength, Courage & Wisdom" singer. Of course "That Magic" is in the number, but there are also a few tracks –"Follow The Sun," "We Are," "Sacred Space," "Prayer For Humanity" – that seem like they fit in with India's tried and true message of self-love and upliftment. There are also some titles that have us wondering exactly what they're going to be about - including "Rollercoaster," "In Good Trouble" and "Crazy." However, one song that we don't have to wonder about any longer is "What If." The track finds India pondering what our lives would be if civil rights leaders and icons of the past hadn't accomplished the feats they had. Well, wonder no more as the talented vocalist and songwriter has not only broken us off with the album's release date, she's also giving us its beautiful cover and tracklist as well. Ever since she gave us "That Magic," we've been wondering when our girl India.Arie would be announcing the release of her upcoming album Worthy.
